CTRL Shift Community of Practice
Our community of practice is for people who are working on locally-led community projects in the UK or abroad, either within your own communities or as part of an organisation that supports local projects.
We meet from 10-12pm (UK time) on the last Thursday of every month.
In these sessions, we are building relationships, hearing about each other’s projects, learning from each other’s practice, solving each other’s problems, sharing resources, and catalysing further collaboration.
We share an open-hearted commitment to inclusion, learning and mutual support. This makes it much easier for us to do the complex, system-shifting, relationship-building, holistic work that we're all committed to. We aim for the space to be co-created by participants and facilitators, and are still at the beginning of our development journey.
We ask participants to make a good faith effort to attend every month for this 2hr session. Those who want to help facilitate and steer the project are also invited to do so.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN
We invite you to attend an on-boarding session first, where we will meet each other, introduce our ways of working and objectives, clarify doubts and gather your feedback.
Onboarding sessions happen on the 2nd Friday of every month, from 11-12.30pm UK time. If you would like to attend the on-boarding session, please let Carolina know which month you would like to attend by emailing: cdowneyoliveira@gmail.com,
MONEY
At the moment, we are able to offer this to all participants for free. We may add fees on a sliding scale as our current funding runs out.
CONTEXT
This community of practice is part of CTRL Shift. CTRL Shift is an alliance of a few hundred organisations and individuals, from big groups like the Transition Network and Cooperatives UK to one-person consultancies. We are all devoted to shifting control from national and international organisations to local and regional ones. We know it's important to address climate change and international security at the global level, but most issues (including global ones) need to be addressed locally, and local people need to decide how things will be done where they live.
There are several other networks that overlap in this community of practice: SONEC (the Sociocratic Neighbourhood Circles network), the Transition Network, the Neighbourhood Democracy Movement, and the Alternative Global, to name a few.

Onboarding - CTRL Shift Community of Practice
Our community of practice is for people who are working on locally-led community projects in the UK or abroad, either within your own communities or as part of an organisation that supports local projects.
We meet from 10-12pm (UK time) on the last Thursday of every month.
In these sessions, we are building relationships, hearing about each other’s projects, learning from each other’s practice, solving each other’s problems, sharing resources, and catalysing further collaboration.

Leading with Healthy Power course - office hours with mentors
As part of the Leading with Healthy Power course, join professionals, activists, and leaders who have built movements and changed the world in our monthly office hours. On the first Tuesday of every month from 11-12.30pm (UK), the people who teach our programs offer a brief (usually 20 minute) lecture on an often-requested topic, and then we have a warm and deep conversation in which participants are welcome to bring their challenges for advice and coaching from mentors and peers.
Attending one session (as a stand-alone outside the Leading with Healthy Power course bundle) costs £30.00 GBP, but you can joint your first session for free!
